Eliana’s First Day of Preschool

Eliana’s first day of preschool was today.  She loves her teacher and had a great time.  She was very proud of her first school project.

John’s First Day of 3rd Grade

John had a great first day. He said he enjoyed the peace and quiet. Translation: he didn’t mind being away from his sisters for 6 hours and 45 minutes.

An Evening Swim

Eliana and her dad were going to have a contest to see who could blow the water out the other person’s side of the noodle (at the same time), but Eliana got a jump start.  Ha ha ha!

Lately, John and Eliana have been having contests to see who can stay under water the longest.  Isabela wanted to get in on the action tonight.

Eliana’s Dance Performance

Eliana’s dance school had performances at the farmer’s market and Hot August Nights.

The girls in her class picked pink skirts, which is her favorite color, but for some reason she chose light blue.  This made it easy for us to spot her on stage. 

The Hot August Nights performance was today and we spent time walking around checking out the nice cars and trucks on display.

Recital Time Again

Eliana's dance school is performing at Hot August Nights in Reno, and tonight they had their pictures taken.

For the record, this was all her. She plopped down on the grass and posed like this all on her own. :)

We went out to dinner tonight and were greeted by three sweet faces when we got home.

We spent the day at home this year and played on the slip n’ slide and in the inflatable pool. 

John and Eliana have been watching old clips of their Uncle Steven from his break dancing days and they love trying out some of his sweet moves.

She fell asleep with a sucker in her mouth and every time I tried to take it out she woke up, but then fell right back asleep.

Eliana’s 1st Ballet Recital

Friday night rehearsal. John was on a plane from Seattle to Reno, so little John and Isabela had to sit through a very long rehearsal. Isabela finally decided to lay down on the floor of the auditorium.

Saturday night performance. A little nap on the way.

After about an hour and a half, Isabela was done, so we wandered the halls for the rest of the evening.

Then we went to PF Changs for dinner. Eliana’s favorite was the tiny chocolate mousse.

Sunday afternoon, final performance. Isabela and I stayed home this time while John, Uncle Steven, and little John went with Eliana. I tried to snap a few pictures of her before they left, and I had a slightly hard time getting her to smile.
