Kindergarten part 2

Eliana had some fun in the kitchen after we dropped John off at school.

 

I picked John up from school and had him pose in front of the school sign.

 

John took a nap this afternoon.....after lining up some Smarties on his pillow. :)

First Day of Kindergarten

Good morning John! He woke up around 5 this morning and climbed into our bed....with his pillow. :)

My Saving Grace

That's right. Ling Lings. I have been absolutely miserable for the last month. This pregnancy is kicking my butt. For the last week I've been surviving on dry Special K, french bread dipped in balsamic vinegar, and grape juice. However, tonight something made me want Ling Lings! Yay....protein! One of my BFFs in Seattle, Volodiya, introduced us to Ling Lings and we (John, little John, and I) have been hooked ever since! Then my brother Paul showed me the one-pan cooking method, and I now have it down to a science.

Honestly, I'm just happy something is staying in my stomach at this point. :)

Where did the summer go?

She is wearing jeans and a onesie under her cute summer dress because it is FREEZING! (low 50's)

Rainy Day

 

John and Eliana spent some time coloring today. It was pretty nasty outside.

Vegetation

As I was driving home this evening, little John asks me a question from the backseat...."Mom, do you like vegetation?" I said, "sure." He then asked me, "Really?" which prompted me to ask him what "vegetation" meant. He replied, "you know, people who don't eat meat." HA HA HA!! He said he saw something about it on PBS today.

It really cracked me up and I felt compelled to share.

FREE MOVIE!!

We went to the movie theatre this morning and saw, "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A Veggie Tales Movie." It started at 10am and it was FREE. :) We had our choice between the Veggie Tales movie and TMNT. Since we've already seen TMNT, we chose the Veggie Tales movie. It was funny and soo cute. I plan on going next week also. You can't beat free!

From this picture (the only one I took before my batteries died), you'd think they were the only team on the field, but this was during the game. :)

First Soccer Game

After dinner we listened to the answering machine (at 6:26pm) and found out John's first soccer game was at 7pm. We rushed to the game and had a blast. It was so cute - every kid is chasing the ball and they are fighting everyone (including their teammates) for the ball.

Opening Day

Alaskaland opened for the season today. Of course we had to go ride the train....





And then there is always the delicious Souvlaki, which I waited in line, patiently for, cramped in the little cabin with all of the other souvlaki seekers. Seriously, the line was out the door and didn't quit! :) Well worth the wait.

And then, of course, we had to get ice cream. :)

Escalade Time!

John dug the Escalade out from under the deck and we cleaned it off. Eliana loves sitting in there and dancing to the radio. We'll see how she likes it tomorrow after the battery is charged. :)

Mamita and Pop are home!

After a month, Eliana did not miss a beat & resumed hanging out at one of her favorite spots..... the counter in Mita & Pop's kitchen where she can play with the radio and dance.

Nothing to Do

Cousins left yesterday and my kids have nothing to do but play with the laundry basket. Don't you feel sorry for them? :)

After the photo shoot, we went to McFattys (I'm still cracking up about that name, Julia) for dinner so the kids could run around in the play area and spend a bit more time together.
